Information about Wesley

I try to tailor my sessions to each individual student based on their wants and needs. This could be a loose approach covering weekly homework with a successful high school student, a more structured and prepared lesson plan to cover material a student struggles with, or anything the student requires. I find out what the student is looking to gain from tuition, and do my best to provide it.

Prior to starting lessons, I ask the students current schooling level/qualifications, and in the case of students currently in education, the exam board and specification. This is to ensure to the best preparation possible on my part.

Availability: Tutoring sessions are available in 1 hour slots and all requested times will be considered alongside currently occupied times. My general preference is to agree a regular slot, although allowances will obviously be made to accommodate students` changing schedules on a lesson-to-lesson basis.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have completed my Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in mathematics at the University of St Andrews. Prior to this, I attained 9 GCSEs and 2 other KS4 level qualifications at Lostock Hall Community High School, followed by A-levels in mathematics, physics and chemistry and AS-levels in further mathematics and psychology at Runshaw College. I became a member of Mensa International in 2009.

Whilst studying at university, I spent time observing teachers in the classroom, and upon the submission of my final year project in January 2017, I began tutoring.
