Information about Harry
I am currently reading MSc Psychology of Mental Health, at the University of Edinburgh, having recently graduated from Kings College London with a 1st Class Honours in International Relations, with a Stared First in my dissertation- which explored racial identity creation during the Brexit campaign.
My studies have tended to focus on historical political economy, social identity and political institutions, which complement the syllabuses for several social sciences at GCSE and A-Level.
Alongside my studies I have worked in the Houses of Parliament and at the British Red Cross. In addition I have volunteered with a Homeless Shelter and Foodbank. My academic knowledge is therefore supported by a real-life application of many of the themes explored in my tutees studies.
My approach is essay-centred, incorporating essential writing skills and exam techniques with course material from the outset. I ask my tutees to complete an essay, or short piece of writing for each session, adapted to the students ability and level of qualification. This allows us to centre the session around the students work.
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends (day or evening)
Please note that I charge a travel fee for total journey times that exceed 50 minutes.
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: In 2016 I tutored an A-Level Government and Politics student throughout his exams, with twice weekly sessions, the feedback for which can be found on my profile (5*). Previously I tutored GCSE Economics students while completing my A-Levels. While at school I judged and tutored younger debating, including Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran from Game of Thrones!), my claim to fame!
