Information about Jessica
I graduated in 2017 with a Masters Degree in Chemistry (MChem) from the University of Edinburgh having completed a five year course which included a year working in industry and several months spent teaching chemistry in a school for my dissertation project.
Following some time spent working as a Publishing Editor for the Royal Society of Chemistry, I am pleased to say that I am now part of the experienced Numberprep tuition team in Amersham. While my background is in chemistry, I have always been interested in all STEM subjects, and believe that maths is the key to bringing them all together without an enthusiasm for maths, it is difficult for a child to develop one for science, technology or engineering.
Availability: Monday to Friday
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: As well as the teaching experience and skills I gained on my Masters project which looked at engaging all backgrounds and abilities of primary school students in chemistry, I have worked in and helped organise various STEM festivals and outreach days through SCI-FUN, and through my volunteer work as a STEM Ambassador.
I can offer one-to-one or group tuition in maths and science across all ages and ability levels. I am able to tailor lessons according to the needs of each student and hope to communicate my passion and enthusiasm for the subjects while using my experience to keep them engaged.
