Information about Ella

I am currently working for a not-for-profit cafe and creative venue that works as a social enterprise trying to connect the local community through creativity and innovation. I am loving what I`m doing but also looking to tutor alongside! I have a high 2:1 degree from UCL in Anthropology and studied the International Baccalaureate in English, Maths, Biology, French, History and Anthropology, whilst obtaining my maths AS alongside. My approach is structured but incredibly empathetic and patient. I have lots of experience working with children including working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school in all years and have also taught English to refugee Tibetan Monks in India. I am currently learning Spanish after having travelled in Cuba and Colombia last year and am looking to move to Barcelona next year.

Availability: Free Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday evenings and possibly Sundays, quite flexible as I work shifts, will just need to plan ahead

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: Previously worked in a school in Cornwall in one of the most deprived areas in the country. Worked in small groups with the children on particular activities, either with the more competent group, encouraging them to further their learning and maximise their potential or with the struggling group, providing them with the extra support they required. This really pushed me to focus on engaging the children where their education was not top of their priorities in any way. As many of the children came from difficult backgrounds, I worked alongside the teacher to really try and interest the children in doing the work.
