Information about Andrew
After 37 years teaching A level Economics and as Head of Department at Reading Blue Coat School , I have retired. Economics results were consistently excellent with many students going on to study Economics at Top Universities.
I used Edexcel but am familiar with the requirements of other boards.
Students need exam technique and a knowledge of marking criteria but above all need to realise that learning and studying Economics can be fun.
A recent laryngectomy means that I speak in a deeper than usual voice…audible none the less.
Availability: weekdays/sundays

Andrew stepped in to help our Yr 13 son with his Economics, taking him for an intensive series of lessons over the Easter holidays prior to exams this Summer. Our son had been unmotivated by his lessons at school and was lagging behind, and struggled with his mock exam after Christmas. Andrew started afresh with him, going through the whole syllabus and especially areas of difficulty. Andrew has an encyclopedic knowledge of the syllabus, a very clear teaching style and is very experienced at teaching the content. He is also very generous with his time, considerate and punctual. The tutoring certainly worked for our son who received an A in Economics in his results last week! We feel very grateful that Andrew was able to step in to assist and we wouldn`t hesitate to recommend him to everyone.

Andrew tutored our son for his economics A level course. Economics was a subject that he hadn`t studied before and towards the end of year 12 we realised that he needed some extra help to be able to get the grade he was aspiring for. Our son found the lessons with Andrew very helpful right from the start. Andrew took the time to go through things well with him even if it meant staying longer. He was also flexible with scheduling. Often our son would request a lesson at short notice and Andrew would be very accommodating. With the guidance and help of Andrew, our son got the predicted grade he wanted and attained it in the actual exams as well. Would definitely recommend him.
