Information about Stephen
I currently teach secondary physics, chemistry and biology at GCSE. I also teach physics and maths at A-level. I have 8 years teaching experience. I have also been an examiner for AQA and OCR. I have experience teaching for the AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards and very much up to date with the new curriculum for this year.
I have a degree in physics with astrophysics. I also have a masters in Physics with Astrophysics and a PhD in Aerospace aviation engineering.
I provide students with a wide range of past paper questions, model answers and completed sets of revision notes. I also help students to gain top marks in their exam questions and give bespoke advise regarding exam answer expectations.
With the use of these methods students who may be lacking in confidence build knowledge and exam technique to improve their grades considerably.
Within the first session, I like to get to know my students and their particular needs. We highlight strengths and weakness and how I can best support their learning. We then put together a plan or sequence of lessons that are tailored to that student and I am very flexible with subject content.
Within the classroom or online, I am a very caring teacher who is patient and friendly.
Availability: Afternoons, Evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel to students home or online.
I am very flexible with availability, so please just ask.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I have been teaching physics, Chemistry and biology for 10 years, plus one year in training.
I also lecture physics and astronomy at colleges universities for over 14 years.
I have taught AS and A-level physics for that amount of time. I have extensive experience and knowledge with OCR, AQA and Edexcel. I can teach detailed lessons, build confidence with subject knowledge and go through exam papers with the student. My mathematics knowledge is very good and can also teach maths or help with maths within physics or as a stand alone course.

Our Year 12 son is enjoying his lessons with Stephen and understands his teaching techniques more clearly than a previous tutor, we wish we had found him sooner. He looks forward to his lessons and he is thriving in the subject. Stephen has been so understanding when we need some flexibility due to other commitments. He is a very knowledgable and we highly recommend him.
