Dear Parent,

I am an experienced maths tutor working with children with diverse learning styles, abilities and needs. For over nine years, I have supported those who enjoy competing and those who feel nervous in the world of maths. My engaging lessons are predominantly online, using various teaching methods and visual aids. However, I also teach at home and in primary schools in and around London. I hold a computer engineering degree, am a mother of children in the primary school stage and am a student in the last year of Child Psychology(Bsc).

My first tutoring lesson is free of charge, where possible, in person. During that session, we get to know each other and determine the child`s maths knowledge and the support required. After that, each presentation is tailored to the child`s age, interests, experience, and learning needs, relating concepts with real-world examples to aid the understanding and application of the learning. Lessons may include multimedia resources, technology integration, visual aids or games requiring active participation. Each lesson concludes with homework to allow the child to continue practising independently, celebrating every success and proudly welcoming mistakes as grounds for further improvement. The classes incorporate ongoing assessments to determine progress and to tailor teaching further.

Lastly, as a mother of a lovely child with special needs, I am patient, empathic and supportive. On a professional level, being a qualified computer engineer allows me to create an interactive online learning environment and engaging lessons. Nevertheless, the most valuable skills in working with children, built through my present study of Child Psychology, provided me with an ability to understand a child`s psychological processes, thinking and behavioure, how it develops from birth to the end of adolescence, and how and why children differ. This knowledge enabled me to evaluate each child`s needs better, tailor my teaching methods, and provide optimal support.
