Craig

Craig is an up and coming guitarist based in Hertfordshire. Having studied guitar over the last decade from ‘Smoke on the Water’ to degree level and beyond he has honed his craft, and holds himself to the highest standards. A recent graduate of the prestigious Guitar Institute Craig holds a BMus (Hons) degree in Popular Music Performance and an LRSL in Music Tuition. Whilst there, he was lucky enough to study under Iain Scott (Brian Wilson, Frank Gambale), Dario Cortese (Larry Carlton, Pete Vettese, Albert Lee), Lee Hodgson (Odyssey, Stevet Cherelle Band, Billy Curtis Band) and Chris Newland (Sister Sledge, Odyssey, Mick Ronson). The lessons he learnt inform both his individual performance and busy teaching practices.

Fluent in all contemporary styles, Craig is renowned for underpinning any musical situation with his blues roots a testament to his versatility. Eclectic in taste, he has performed hundreds of gigs as a solo performer, rock ‘n’ roll function guitarist and stretching further to twelve piece soul bands. He has been fortunate enough to play exclusive venues such as the Indigo O2 and as a regular on the local music scene, he has become an experienced and well-rounded musician.

Craig takes great pride in delivering a professional and energetic live performance and as a tutor, strives to create an inspirational and tailored tuition programme for his students. He is dedicated to carving a name for himself and passionately delivering music for years to come.

Experience: Outside of being a busy performer Craig is an in demand guitar tutor. With years of experience already under his belt he is sure to pass on the insights of his prestigious tutors. Having graduated from The Guitar Institute with a BMus (Hons) degree in Popular Music Performance and an LRSL in Music Tuition his lessons are well informed and professional.

Craig currently teaches private 1:1 lessons for people of all ages and abilities in Hemel Hempstead and St Albans. Craig prides himself on delivering a curriculum specifically tailored to the student whilst incorporating key musicianship skills throughout. Both casual tuition and Rockschool exam routes are catered for as well as G.C.S.E performance prep and Duke of Edinburgh Awards, with current students holding a 100% merit or above pass rate. Having successfully taught a diverse range of students across all contemporary styles Craig is an accomplished tutor, and as a member of the Musicians Union has full public liability insurance and an advanced DBS check.
