Information about Gayathiri
I studied at Watford Grammar School for Girls where I achieved 8A*s at GCSE and 3A*s at A Level. I then went on to read Theology at Worcester College, Oxford where I achieved a First Class degree. From there, I completed an MPhil at Hughes Hall College, Cambridge in Theology and Religious Studies, with a special focus on 20th century Hinduism.
Ive always loved and continue to love learning a passion which I hope to impart upon my tutees. The Oxbridge tutorial system is a unique, effective and focused way of learning which I strive to emulate in my classes.
Availability: I am available all day on Thursdays and Fridays as well as in the evenings on the other days of the week.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I currently tutor privately and have had over 500 hours of teaching experience with students aged 4-18. My experiences ranges from play learning to GCSE revision guidance to Oxbridge interview preparation.
Ive also had 2 years at the Watford KUMON centre, teaching Maths and English to children between the ages of 5-8. Highlights have included teaching English in Hong Kong and Shanghai, where I watched students grow in confidence whilst preparing for university interviews.
As a volunteer mentor for RARE recruitment I regularly conduct mock interviews for Oxbridge candidates in Theology, English and History.I strongly believe that students should be engaged whilst learning the process should be fun and evoke curiosity. I try my best to mould lesson plans to individual students personalities and way of thinking so that together, we can make the most of our lessons.
