I am a dedicated Science teacher with fourteen years of teaching experience. As a determined and resourceful individual with a desire to deliver the best results in everything I do, I plan my lessons from the point of view of how my students learn and design an engaging and effective learning experience by selecting the most appropriate methods to ensure each student achieves their personal educational goal.

I have an impressive track record of students’ success where all the students I taught have met or exceeded their target grades in their GCSE examinations, 100% of my students achieved grades 7+ and on average 50% achieved grade 9 in the 2019 and 2018 GCSE Biology examinations and 100% of my students achieved grades A* - C in the 2012 - 2017 GCSE Additional and Triple Science examinations.

Watching the learners’ eyes widening in wonder, seeing the look of surprise and joy on their faces when they finally “get it” gives me an immense feeling of pride for their accomplishments, and are the major reasons I am working as a tutor. I strive to create and deliver engaging lessons where my learners experience success that motivates and gives them self-confidence, and rediscover their love for Science.

Experience: I am a private tutor specialised in Biology up to A-level, and Chemistry up to GCSE. I have experience teaching students from 11 to 18 years old, this includes general Science at KS3 level, Biology and Chemistry at GCSE level (AQA and Edexcel) and Biology at A-level (AQA and SNAB Edexcel).

My fourteen years of teaching experience have enabled me to gain an extensive knowledge of the subjects I teach together with well-informed understanding of the assessment requirements.

In my teaching, I use evidence-informed Teaching & Learning strategies and aid my learners to move through the learning path I designed by providing them with clear and concise instructions and presenting the information in small steps. This is followed by checking for understanding, lots of opportunities to practice what I taught them, providing feedback, and ensuring the students reflect on their learning.

I aim to create a learning space where tutees feel secure and confident enough to ask questions, practice what they learnt and stretch and challenge themselves, hence developing great relationship with my tutees is of utmost importance.
