Information about Lucy
Hello my name is Lucy and I am an experienced Primary School Teacher. I`ve 8 years of teaching experience in Upper Key Stage 2.
I trained with the Teach Thurrock Scheme which is run by the Outstanding Catalyst Trust in Thurrock. I was qualified as an Outstanding Teacher in 2016 and have since worked in Herringham Primary Academy and Arthur Bugler Primary School (which is where I am still based).
Since qualifying, I have been nominated for Teacher of the Year at the Thurrock Education Awards 2019, as well as being nominated for Happiest Employee at the National Laughology Awards 2019.
Having developed my teaching practice, I am now wishing to help prepare further students for the academic year ahead using my creative and engaging teaching style.
Availability: Please contact me for availability details. I am flexible, so please contact me as I might be able to accommodate different times and days that suit you.
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: First and foremost, I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with 8 years of teaching experience, mostly in Upper Key Stage 2. I`ve worked in Years 1, 4, 5 and 6. The majority of my teaching experience has been in Years 5 and 6. Therefore, I am fully aware of the expectations children need to meet when preparing for the End of Key Stage exams.
I`ve taught in two primary schools in Thurrock - Herringham Primary Academy (2015-2018) and Arthur Bugler Primary School (2018-present). I have been nominated for Teacher of the Year at the Thurrock Education Awards 2019, as well as being nominated for Happiest Employee at the National Laughology Awards 2019.
Prior to becoming a Teacher, I was a Youth Worker. I worked for The Duke of Edinburgh`s Award (Youth Worker) and Essex Boys and Girls Clubs (Arts Officer). In both of these settings, I worked with a range of young people to help them realise and meet their potential. Both of these roles have helped me tremendously to become the creative Teacher I am today.
