Tommy

I have always had a deep fascination with science, a deep appreciation for beauty in mathematics and a real love of sharing knowledge and understanding. From 4 years experience of tutoring face to face, online and in teaching support, I have learnt that people think and learn in very different ways. I am incredibly passionate about creating learning environments that support that, and create those `Oh Yeah` moments in my students that make maths and science become fun, engaging, and fascinating. This is one of the great things about teaching, no two students are the same so you are always using new ways to approach learning which makes the process more interesting, rewarding and beneficial for the student.

Working online I can take apart complex mathematical or scientific concepts and put them together using verbal, visual and interactive teaching methods that are most suitable for the student. We can work through exam papers, create annotated diagrams and graphs, and share learning resources, among many other things. I am 100% committed to all my students, and work hard in preparing and organising my sessions to work with them as a team to achieve there full potential.

Experience: I have successfully tutored maths and physics to students over the past 6 years offline and over the past 3 years I have moved purely online. I have tutored maths and physics from primary up to university level and I have coordinated entire comprehensive courses with great success.

Over the past two years I have worked with over 60 students. I`ve helped students with their Oxford MAT entry exams. I have independently coordinated an entire early GCSE course for an 8 year old student. I was a teaching assistant for mathematics in school for one year, and I have tutored 1st, 2nd and 3rd year mathematics full time for two years. I have a solid knowledge of the new GCSE and A-level (9-1) syllabus for maths and physics, as well as (9-1) GCSE in combined science. I take time outside of my lessons to prepare stimulating lessons for my students.
