Information about Leanne

I`m a successful tutor that has supported a range of students and abilities, which has ranged from 11+ through to A-level.

I am an English teacher who has worked in education since I graduated in 2012. I currently work for an over-subscribed successful school in North West London, teaching Years 7-11. I am the Literacy Co-ordinator and pride myself in having a secure understanding of SEN needs.

As well as teaching, I am also an examiner for AQA. I have marked the English Language Paper 1 (creative writing) - this has proved really helpful in supporting students with how to prepare and answer questions in order to achieve the highest grades for them.

I have recently completed a PgCert in understanding dyslexia which allows me to privately assess for dyslexia as well as tutor tailored interventions to students who are dyslexic. If you think your child is dyslexic, I am able to deliver the tests and write the report in order for them to gain additional support/funding in school and moving forward support in further education.

Availability: My availability changes, please get in contact to discuss further.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I gained QTS in 2018 (outstanding) and completed my PGCE the following year at UCL (distinction)
I have been teaching English in secondary schools since 2017.
Before that I was an intervention teacher, supporting students with learning needs (mainly dyslexia) on a 1:1 basis. This involved creating schemes of work tailored to their weaknesses.
