Hello my name is Sarah. If you`re looking for an experienced Primary school teacher to provide interesting, fun and focused home school lessons, after school tuition or learning support throughout the holidays I would love to hear from you. I am currently taking on pupils to work towards the 2022 11+ examinations.

For many children, school can be a challenging environment to learn in. This is why tutoring can really work to encourage a pupil to unlock their potential. I create a calm, positive and supportive space where the pupil feels comfortable enough to challenge themselves and realise their potential. I will start by assessing children`s areas of strengths and weaknesses and tailor each lesson to the individual child. As much as possible I like to include games and creative ideas to engage my pupils and get the most out of the experience, based on their own likes and interests.

I have a BA in History and a PGCE with Humanities Specialism both from Exeter University. I have 8 years experience in Primary Education working as a teacher of children aged 3-11 and have worked as Head of Early Years. I have successfully supported children through their Phonics Screening Checks, KS1 and KS2 SATs with great results. I have strong experience in teaching pupils with English as an Additional language. I also have taught many children with Special Educational Needs and have particular skills in teaching pupils with Autism and Dyslexia. I also teach the skills needed to pass the 11+, specifically English, mathematics, verbal & non-verbal reasoning for GL and CEM-style papers.
