Hello. I am a teacher with an MA in History, an MA in Creative Writing and a degree in Politics and History. I am also a published playwright and poet, my latest collection of poetry, `First Fleet` (2016) is published by Smokestack Books. I have been teaching part time in an English department at a University for the last four years as well as working as a private tutor. I tutor at both A level and GCSE in English and History. Prior to university teaching I was a writer in residence in a young offenders institution using creative writing and drama to improve the literacy, thinking and behaviour of young prisoners. I have worked widely in youth theatre and have written a popular text book on creative writing. My drama has been produced on stage and radio in the UK, Australia and most recently the US. I`ve also directed for theatre, most recently at Watford Palace Theatre. As well as a teacher, I have been a youth justice worker and a careers adviser.

Experience: During the last academic year (2014 - 2015) I successfully tutored a local A level History student (see feedback below). This academic year (2015 -2016) I have tutored A level and GCSE English and am currently tutoring two GCSE History students. For the last two years I have taught creative writing (poetry, drama, short fiction) part time at Sheffield Hallam University from 2012-2014, poetry at Edge Hill University. I have also guest lectured in History and Criminology. As a writer I have run writing and drama workshops with all ages.
