After 20 years of working in all aspects of the teaching profession at an elite level I am now able to take small groups of up to 4 pupils and teach them science in a way that they feel they are getting the 1-2-1 support they require to make exceptional progress.
Although sessions will see a maximum of 4 pupils working with me online, students may find themselves in smaller numbers for the majority of the academic year. By working online with small numbers allows students to learn in the comfort of their own home, parents pay a much reduced price, and I get the opportunity to be far more efficient with my time while reaching far more students than could be possible while only teaching 1 student at a time.
I am currently a Science teacher in a high achieving secondary school in bolton and previously worked in the biggest school in Liverpool and have been qualified for 15 years. I teach all three Science`s at GCSE level and have taught Physics at A-Level. I love teaching both inside the classroom and out and have tutored for over 8 years. I currently Mark for the exam boards AQA and Edecel and so have a good understanding of how to succeed in written GCSE science exams. I am young and enthusiastic and love sharing in the success of young people. I can gladly provide references and am available to work most evenings and on weekends.

Mark is very personable and put my son at ease straight away. He enjoyed his sessions with him in a subject that he really doesn’t enjoy (the sciences). Mark is always available to help when needed and how’s out of his way to assist you.

Our son has been have lessons with Mark for a couple of months now. Mark has good teaching methods which makes the subject easier to understand and remember. Our son is enjoying the tutoring sessions and he has an increased confidence in his science knowledge.

My son has had a few lessons so far with Mark and he is already feeling much more enthused and confident as he approaches his GCSE science exams! Mark’s is a fabulous teacher! His lessons are engaging, in-depth, thorough and fun! Mark has been very accommodating and flexible and we are grateful that he has been able to arrange a convenient schedule at quite short notice. I would highly recommend Mark as a tutor!

Mark has been an absolutely brilliant tutor for my son Ollie and I would highly recommend him. Wish our school could have Mark! Mark helped to give him his confidence back with science and as a result he got amazing grades in his GCSE exams this summer! We wanted a tutor who is enthusiastic and engages well with our son James and we found that in Mark. James has only had a handful of lessons so far but he looks forward to Marks lessons. His method of teaching is easy to understand and James is already feeling the benefit. He is given given notes we can print off from the lesson. Would definitely recommend Mark.

Mark has been teaching my children Ks3 and 4 science since the first lockdown and school closures. They loved his teaching style so much and I liked how he always motivates them on independent studying, revision, etc we mutually agreed to make the virtual lessons going on. His lessons are very interactive and interesting. I get the recordings or screenshots. And he challenges them to apply the knowledge rather than sit staring at a screen. I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a great science teacher. Only hope we get to keep him as well.

Mark has been teaching my year 11 son for more than 3 months now, he is a very lovely person, my son loved his approach, and he made an incredible progress in Physics, thanks to Mark`s help and support, which was reflected in the results of his mock exams results. My son now enjoys studying it, and now we are hoping for a 9 I really can not recommend Mark more..!! Thanks Mark...

My daugther is going to do her GCSE in June 2021, I tried to find a good triple science teacher with AQA examiner`s background. Luckily I finally find Mark. We had a few rounds of email communications about my objectives and perceived ways moving forward. Unlike some of the tutors in the tutor hunt, Mark has demonstrated his willingness working together with the parent on the Child. I believe that this is thje value what most of the parents are looking for. It is really good that we often exchange text messages after the lesson and jointly discuss the way forward. Most importantly I am able to watch the recorded sessions and see how it goes in the lesson. I am very impressed with the knowledge and the way using mind map making difficult technical terms easier to be understood in a short time frame. Mark has also tried utilise the 60 minutes to its maximum covering triple topics and challenges the Child is facing over the week. Lastly I would like to say that you would not regret if you choose Mark for tutoring your child on GCSE triple sciences. Thanks for all the efforts that Mark has made on my Child. Wish my child will improve over the next 9 months and get prepared well for her GCSE exam.

My daughter finds his style of teaching engaging and helpful. We’ve been very glad to find him and the process of selecting and contacting a tutor was so easy. Would definitely recommend both Mark and Tutor Hunt to others. The only thing I wasn’t clear about before we made our selection was how it worked and how Tutor Hunt profited. Maybe I missed that on the website. It’s a great system making a one-off small fee for the tutor’s contact details then all fees are paid direct to the tutor.

Had one session with Mark which went very well. However, he cancelled the next session, tried to rearrange but no response. Did not turn up the following week and no further communication received.

My year 10 daughter is very happy with Mark. He has a very relaxed style which puts her at ease and she loves his novel but clever ways of remembering tricky information. She has also commented on just how much they can get through in an hour, compared to a schools lesson. An update to my feedback given in 2017. Its results day today and my daughter has gained a grade 9 in Chemistry, a grade 8 in Biology and a grade 7 in Physics. She is not a scientist and at the start of year 10 was afraid of the subjects. Marks greatest strength is to make these subjects less intimidating through his use of fun ways to remember key facts and his interactive teaching . We are delighted, thanks Mark.

Mark is a really enthusiasting and knowledgeable tutor who tells fantastic `stories` to explain science concepts.
My daughter remembered so much in her GCSE Science exam through this way of teaching. Just wished she`d had him for much longer, we only had a few months but I`d suggest if you are working towards GCSE`s you need him from January at the latest - you won`t regret the investment!
And my daughter, she just missed out on an `A` , let down not by her exams (where she got `A`s) but by her D in her coursework.
Moral of the story, make sure your coursework is top notch, and with Mark you`ve got the opportunity to do really well.

Mark was incredibly helpful in boosting daughters confidence in her own abilities and making sure that she was wholly up to speed on one or two things she had missed. she is going into her mocks feeling happy now. we will most certainly have mark back about once a month or so to top up daughters revision and make sure that she continues to enjoy all three science subjects

My daughter has had regular tuition from Mark for the past few months. She feels that she has developed well with him and believes that he helped her to attain outstanding results in her mock GCSEs. He is reliable and punctual. We will continue to use him up until GCSEs in the summer time
