Information about Jackie

I am a qualified Mathematics teacher and tutor with over 20 years teaching experience in private and state schools. I have led mathematics departments in two schools and have been an Assistant Headteacher for over 11 years.

Ofsted have rated my lessons outstanding at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level. My students have achieved outstanding results, some of which have been presented at national conferences.

I have extensive experience of working with exam boards and have been a consultant or author on many textbooks and publications. My research was published by Oxford University and my teaching approaches, described in a number of books and publications, have proved very effective in raising achievement for students by making Mathematics accessible and interactive.

My approach focuses on building students` understanding of key mathematical principles and how these link together, using a variety of my own methods, which I tailor to the individual needs of each student. I identify and resolve any misconceptions which a student may have and build their confidence to answer questions, including those in an unfamiliar format.

Students find me approachable with a good sense of humour. I also have an MSc in Career Management and Coaching (Distinction) at Birkbeck, University of London. The learning and insights I have gained from coaching enhance the quality of tutoring experience I am able to offer my students.

Jackie is a well-planned teacher. Although my girl had an online lesson, Jackie plans to make good use of the tool so that my girl can actively learn. We are also very satisfied that we can get her feedback right away. I can`t help but recommend her.

Jackie communicated with my daughter extremely well and appeared very knowledgeable about her subject area.

Jackie is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor. She is full of new ideas and new ways of teaching to her students. My daughter managed to grasp a concept that she had struggled with in one session with a Jackie, purely from the visual method she used to teach it!
