Information about Kirsty
I am taking time out from writing up my PhD in Psychology, at the Institute of Education in London.
I am an enthusiastic tutor who aims to make things as fun as possible, and know how to phrase or work things differently for the various learning types.
My PhD is looking at improving children`s writing, from a cognitive psychology perspective, so I am experienced in working with children with a range of special needs.
I am also an experienced youth worker (voluntarily), and have tutored many of my youth in the past.
Availability: Flexible, mainly after school and weekend, although could do some during the days for study leave periods.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have informal experience of tutoring A Level and GCSEs, with previous young people, and have taught on statistics courses at a university level.
I have worked at Oxford Brookes University as a research assistant and psychology demonstrator. As a research assistant I offered informal support to undergraduate psychology students on their dissertations. As a demonstrator I was responsible for the computer-based practical sessions for undergraduate statistics in psychology.
I have also taught statistics for masters and doctoral students at the Institute of Education.
