Bonjour ! My name is Stéphanie and I am a DBS checked native French tutor. My early background is in French Literature and Philosophy, and I am also an experienced and qualified practitioner specialised in trauma desensitisation reprocessing in Harley Street (London) and Great Missenden. I have lived and worked in the UK for the past 20 years and really enjoy my life here.

Tutoring Experience

Three years ago I started working as a part-time teacher at a French language school in Amersham and loved it! I discovered through this experience that I really enjoyed teaching French to bilingual children and I now manage a class of 15 of them every Saturday morning. I also tutor English children and teenagers. My tutees are primarily KS3 and GCSE students from local Grammar Schools (eg. Dr Challoners) and from reputable private schools (eg. Stowe). It is a great honour for me to tutor students from all walks of like and feedback from students and parents has been amazing! Merci !!

Experience: Learning a foreign language like French is in my view rewarding and has the advantage of opening many doors to those who wish to embark on such a fantastic journey. Research has also shown that it has multiple positive effects on the development of the young brain and can even improve memory in adult/senior learners!

In addition to my tutoring services to KS3 and GCSE students I offer private French tuition to young children, as well as adults/seniors, whatever their level in French is. Young children lessons are primarily organised in group sessions in order to allow everyone to learn important French words through songs and stories. Older children (7-10 years old) can be offered individual tuition based upon their level of French and the specific areas they wish to improve on. Last but not least I have recently started a unique French & Craft afternoon club for primary school children (4-10 years old), which has proven successful.

Individual and group tuition are delivered in my office based in Great Missenden. I can occasionally visit students at their home. Group sessions have a maximum of 6 students per session.
