Experience: Since actively tutoring last year, I have enjoyed providing tuition to a range of students and subjects, and look forward to tutoring new students this year. Last year I tutored Primary Maths and English, Secondary and A Level English and also GCSE Biology.
My employment history has been predominately based around working with children, in a number of teaching and non-teaching roles.
From October to December I worked as a secondary school teacher, managing classes and ensuring that I build effective relationships with classes and individual students. I have been tutoring GCSE WJEC English Language, which has been extremely beneficial.
In 2013, I worked at a primary school for a term, helping students get ready for the KS2 SATs exam. Often, I worked with small groups of students including G&T aiming for higher levels. I have also worked with primary school children in libraries over the summer holidays, encouraging reading.
Every students` needs are different, just as every individual is different and I believe this is the most important key to effective tutoring.
The first session will be dedicated to assessing both current knowledge, the desired outcome and agreeing on a route from A to B!
I am dedicated, enthusiastic and challenging in my approach to tutoring, encouraging all students to gain the grade or level they want through assessing how each individual learns, and making material interesting and engaging accordingly.
