I have twenty five years experience teaching English Language and English Literature both in the UK and abroad. I also prepare students for the 11 Plus and School Entrance Examinations. I have been an Examiner for IGCSE Cambridge International and Eduqas and I am currently examining for AQA, English Literature. Students enjoy my lessons, both face-to-face and online, as I adapt them to meet the needs of the individual, always ensuring that the student is comfortable and confident as they learn. Excellent progress is made very quickly. I believe in instilling confidence which may be faltering for various reasons and I ensure that students leave my lessons happy and with a sense of accomplishment. My last Ofsted teaching observation was awarded `Outstanding.`
As well as tutoring up to A-Level, I also have experience in teaching English as a 2nd Language, following the Cambridge syllabus. I work hard to make my lessons as engaging as possible to enhance learning so that students achieve the highest grades and success rates. I instill the importance of learning from mistakes and not to lose confidence but to see errors as opportunities for growth.
