Freya is an researcher and exhibition curator with a specialist interest in the importance of wider community access to creativity and culture. She holds a degree in History of Art (BA, University of York) and is currently studying Curating the Art Museum [contact detail removed]

is committed to representing and optimising accessibility for diverse communities through teaching and learning. With a strong belief in curating collections that display under-represented movements and voices, hopes to highlight the key importance in arts and culture to students. Her lessons go beyond the lesson, and aim to lead cultural conversations, support understanding and inspire individuals in arts and culture.

• Researched and studied topics that pertained to Gallery exhibitions so that such information could be added to scri pts.
• Established lasting relationships with local partners, including restaurants, cafes, museums and concert halls so that travellers could further explore the city on their own.
• Worked closely with the management staff of York Art Gallery to create new and lucrative exhibitions including the permanent collection of Bernard Leach pottery.
• Answered questions, pointed out important features and offered further details about limited exhibits, such as the Studio Pottery collection to educate visitors.

Fulfilled multiple duties, including tutoring basic math and English skills, and educating young children on basic life skills such as hygiene, safety and maintaining good health.
• In partnership with the Fijian Ministry of Youth and Sport, working with youth groups across rural areas of Fiji, supporting young adults to improve their skills, increase their employability.
• Assisted teachers with the material generation, lesson plan development, class preparation, scheduling, exam distribution and student mentoring.
• Partnered with a teacher to plan and implement lessons following the school`s curriculum, goals, objectives and philosophies.
• Retained interest and maximised receptive learning by educating students using techniques which catered to the type of learner the student was, for example, visual, auditory or kinaesthetic.
• Drove social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development through age-appropriate activities such as active sport sessions 5 days a week for 3 hours.
