I have 25 years experience as a class teacher and have been awarded Charter Teacher status in recognition of my expertise in primary teaching. My additional teaching qualifications to Masters level has focused my understanding of teaching and these skills are refined daily in my own class. I have recently been highly recommended by school inspectors.
I am friendly, patient and caring with a background in the nursing profession. I aim to build a rapour in which pupils feel relaxed, comfortable, secure and able to talk about their understanding.
I hope to work with children to secure understanding, improve confidence and increase their ability.

At the moment I am accepting only online pupils with a free first lesson and 20% discount thereafter.

Experience: I have 25 years experience as a classroom teacher in all primary stages. I have taught many children requiring support with their learning and have experience of teaching children with dyslexia. I use coloured overlays on all my shared whiteboards and use dyslexia friendly text.

I have extensive experience teaching primary maths concepts including strategies to improve mental calculations, times tables, money, time, fractions and all other areas which often require one to one reinforcement and practice. I teach these concepts through use of resources such as number cards, cubes, numicon, 100 number grids, play money and teaching clocks all of which are provided. I also use online games,worksheets and textbooks.

I also have extensive experience teaching English across all ability levels and have experience teaching children with dyslexia. I have taught reading and comprehension using online books, resources and short novels. I have also taught grammar and spelling using a range of strategies, textbooks and resources. I have taught every style and format of writing using a variety of stimulus including pictures, video clips and experiences.
