I am a friendly and dedicated tutor with a passion for helping children develop confidence and clarity in their learning.

I believe that every child can succeed when they are given the right support, structure, and encouragement. My sessions are designed to be calm, positive, and engaging, helping children feel comfortable enough to take risks and make progress.

In writing, I focus on helping children move beyond basic sentences and develop richer vocabulary, stronger sentence structure, and accurate punctuation. In maths, I prioritise secure foundations and clear understanding.

Parents often tell me that their child not only improves academically, but also becomes more motivated and willing to engage with their work.

My aim is always to create steady, lasting progress while helping children feel more confident in themselves.

Availability: I currently offer sessions on weekday afternoons and early evenings, with limited daytime availability for home-educated pupils.

Most of my ongoing pupils attend at the same time each week to provide consistency and routine, which I find is key for building confidence and progress.

Experience: I am an experienced KS2 tutor specialising in English (writing, grammar, and reading) and maths. I have worked extensively with children in Years 4–6, supporting them with SATs preparation, 11+ entrance exams, and general confidence in the classroom.

I have 23 years teaching experience, mainly in Year 5 and Year 6, and led maths at an outstanding private school for ten years.

Alongside academic progress, I place a strong emphasis on building a child’s confidence and enjoyment of learning. Many of the children I work with initially feel reluctant or anxious, and it is a key part of my role to create a calm, supportive environment where they can succeed.

I have particular experience helping children who:

need structured support to organise their ideas
benefit from clear, step-by-step teaching
