Information about Elizabeth

Hello,

Thank you for visiting my profile page.

I really enjoy teaching and getting to understand each student`s personality and ways of learning. I think we all learn differently, and although schools try to provide for everyone as best they can, it is difficult to accommodate everyone`s unique ways of learning and this, I believe, is where tutors can have the most impact.

I think of my role as more than a tutor - I believe I am also a mentor and friend to help students through what can be a very stressful time for students and parents alike, especially when exams or assessments are coming up. I also instil a life-long passion for learning and a genuine curiosity about the world so that students feel compelled to learn for the sheer joy of it, and not simply to pass exams. Of course, this then naturally leads to better exam grades, which is great!

I have been tutoring extensively for the past 8 years and with thousands of hours of tutoring experience, I have a great track record of helping students to achieve their goals, with many gaining entry to top schools in the country, and excelling at their exams. My recent success stories include a GCSE student who achieved A* in all his GCSE science subjects, a student who improved from grade C to A and another year 5 student who improved from the 50-60% range to 75-85% range in English, Maths and Science. I also co-managed a Maths Club where almost 50% of the kids were offered places at St.Paul`s School and St.Paul`s Girls` School. If you would like personal recommendations, please let me know or take a look at some of the testimonials below.

I believe every student has the potential to achieve great things and leave a positive impact on the world - it just needs someone with the time, patience and a sense of fun to unlock that potential.

All the best,
Liz

Experience: "Liz was an amazing tutor! She was an inspiration to me when I was doing English GCSE and helped me achieve 2A* s in Literature and Language." (Tristan Byrne)

"Elizabeth is an excellent tutor, who brought out the best in all my 3 children. She tutored both my sons for their English GCSEs. Both achieved A* even though before Liz started they were only attaining Bs or Cs in their mocks. She also tutored my daughter for a successful result in her 11+. I would recommend Liz highly."
(Claire Kent, CEO, Richmond)

"We were looking for a tutor who could help our two boys over the summer to help them with their Maths and English. Flynn and Jake loved their sessions with Liz and I saw improvements in both subjects after just a few sessions. They found her lessons fun and interesting and she got the best out of both of them. Thank you Liz!"
(Poppy Adams, CEO, Richmond)

"My son really struggled with Maths and English, and with GCSE exams only a few months away, he was finding it difficult to know where to start with his revision. Sam instantly got on with Liz and I could see his confidence grow quickly. Sam and I found her to be friendly, fun and patient and his grades improved from C to A. Liz was just what we were looking for."
(Dilek G, Mum, Kensington)

Max and Isabel loved maths club and got a lot out of it. Getting kids to go to a Saturday morning maths club is no easy feat but they really enjoyed the games, especially the team games and the peer to peer coaching. They were more motivated to engage in maths and their numeracy skills improved very quickly."
(Celia Francis, CEO of Rated People)

"Before Liz started my daughter didn`t enjoy Maths and her literacy skills really needed improvement, especially as she was taking her 11+ exams. We decided to try out Maths club and our daughter loved it! Jessica liked the games and the fact that should could also coach younger students, which was a great way to build her leadership skills and confidence as well as making great strides with her Maths skills. We then asked Liz to tutor Jessica and her test marks rose to 90% from 55-60%. Liz was patient and fun - I would often hear both of them laughing during their sessions, which is always a good sign! Liz is also a great role model and I`m thrilled that my daughter has gained so much more than just academic success."

Although Elizabeth has only recently started tutoring my year 8 daughter, it feels as if we have known her for ages. She looks forward to her lessons and is always smiling when she leaves.
We have found Elizabeth to be friendly and approachable but firm when required. I have seen my daughters confidence start to grow and I have no doubt that having Elizabeth as her tutor will reflect positively in her grades this year.
I have no hesitation in recommending Elizabeth as a tutor.
