Information about Emily
My name is Emily, and I am a qualified teacher of English. I live in Colchester with my husband and have worked in state schools in Essex and Suffolk and lectured at the University of Essex.
I love tutoring because I enjoy watching children and young people work towards and meet their potential. I understand the pressure of exams for young people today and that confidence is one of the key factors for exam success. To build a students confidence I ensure regular exposure to a range of different exam questions whilst also taking a person-centred approach, working hard to ensure my lessons are tailored to the individual and their academic needs; in my experience this is how children learn best. As part of the tutoring process, I regularly liaise with parents to discuss how lessons are going and feel that an open dialogue is key to good learning.

My daughter will be sitting her A level Sociology exams very soon, so a month or so ago I decided to look for a tutor who could help her with revision and also the exam question answering structure. Emily has been helping with these and my daughter has found her friendly, knowledgeable, informative and she has definitely helped her with the exam technique. I would highly recommend Emily.
