Information about Polly
I have been teaching for twenty years across the Primary age-range (5 to 11 years). I am currently working in an independent school in Surrey as a Year 4 teacher who teaches English across Years 3 to 6. My tutoring tends to focus on English and Maths and on preparation for Senior School exams. I am SEN-trained and particularly specialise in supporting those children who are insecure in their learning or who find it difficult to adapt to a mainstream teaching environment.
Availability: I have availability on selected week-day evenings, after 5pm. On weekends, I have availability in the morning and afternoon. I am also available for limited hours over the Summer.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have experience of teaching children who struggle with English and Maths and I have had training in supporting children with dyslexia, ASD, PDA and Dyscalculia. I have also successfully prepared children for 11+ exams, including Reigate Grammar. I use a blend of online teaching resources and concrete resources to achieve the maximum learning impact for each student.

Polly has been really helpful in assessing our son and explaining what he needs to focus on. She is very dedicated and calm and our son responds really well to her sessions. I am very grateful that he is in safe hands. Polly has also been really informative at explaining the entry process for local grammar schools and what they are looking for. I have high hopes that under Polly’s guidance, we can help set our son up for success.

Mrs Polly was my son`s tutor for the past 1.5 year and she was preparing him for entrance exams to Grammar School. She was great with my son, he really enjoed his lessons and we saw amazing progress. My son passed exams with great results.
