Steve

Steve has almost two decades of experience working in Upper Key Stage Two. The last nine years have been spent preparing pupils of all abilities for 11+ entrance exams, with great success. He has also guided children to outstanding results in Grammar School exams: from St Olave’s and Newstead Wood as well as a variety of Kent and Bexley grammar schools.

His experience lies with English, Maths and Reasoning which are the core subjects tested at 11+ level. With almost a decade in Year 6, Steve has a wealth of resources and online programmes which steer pupils towards the relevant tests for their chosen schools; from City of London to Alleyn’s and Jags.

Steve has also widespread experience at 7+ and 8+ level enabling younger pupils to reach their goals in Dulwich College, Eltham and a host of competitive London schools.

Steve was originally a journalist for fifteen years where a high standard of English was fundamental for each assignment. He has almost exclusively worked in mixed-ability classes, including students with additional educational needs. He loves the daily challenge of enabling pupils to achieve exam success.

Outside of the classroom, he is a keen athlete, having run 41 Marathons, an experienced long-distance walker and a Cricket enthusiast.

Availability: After school 5-8pm
All school holidays.

Experience: I have been working with students outside of my classroom for the last ten years.

This has predominently been face to face, but with some online lessons as well.

I have had the pleasure of coaching pupils to 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ success at a wide variety of independent schools.
