Information about Laetitia

I am a native French speaker, speak fluent English as I have carried out all my education in England. I have graduated from Trinity College, Oxford with a 2.1 in Modern Foreign Languages, French and Spanish. I am interested in literature, and enjoy transmitting my passion for languages to the pupils. I also like helping the pupils to understand the complexity of grammar, and feel that it is very rewarding to see a pupil overcome and tackle difficulties successfully. I believe it is important to focus on the culture of the language, in order to give the pupils a wider understanding of their subject. My approach is to guide the pupils to help them find the way in which they learn best and also to challenge them to always question and analyse information.
I am people-focused, enjoy working with children and have a fun approach to learning. I am also patient and understanding of the hurdles that some people face learning a foreign language.

Availability: I am flexible and can sort my schedule around client`s needs. Also available to do Skype sessions.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: 1. I have carried out a few sessions of Oxbridge tutoring for French and Spanish with some pupils looking to hone their skills before interviews.
2. I volunteered as a teaching assistant in the Peruvian Amazon for two months. I helped the children with pronounciation and grammar, and also conducted oral examinations. I was an assistant to children of all ages, from nursery to secondary school.
3. I worked as a volunteer assistant in my first year at Oxford, teaching English as a foreign language to overseas workers. I helped them understand and learn useful vocabulary when looking for a job in England.
4. I was the coach of the first French debating team at Ibstock. Due to my native French skills and competitive debating experience, I coached the team into the semi-finals of the inter-schools French debating competition.
5. Throughout my time at Ibstock I helped Junior school children with their reading and schoolwork for a year.
