A positive and dedicated English teacher with QTS with experience teaching in grammar schools across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

I encourage and support students to ensure that they are approaching every topic and exam paper with a positive, can-do attitude. I also ensure that my students are challenged and stretched with a sense of independence and pride in their work.

I plan lessons to suit the individual needs of my students at times these are creative lessons and others technical lessons geared for examination prep.

I have experience teaching to current English Language and Literature GCSEs (1-9 grades) and English Literature AS and English Literature A Level.

I am happy to support with university applications and job applications too - thanks to my responsibilities as a class tutor and previous experience within Oxford University`s admissions team.

I have lesson plans, worksheets and texts to support my lessons and can make new lesson plans and documents for the needs of new students.

My education background includes a degree in English Studies (Language, Literature and Creative Writing) and teacher training (with QTS) from the Institute of Education, University College London (ranked number one for education worldwide in the 2014- 2017 QS World University Rankings).

I am currently completing my Masters in English Literature at Keele University.

I LOVE teaching Shakespeare, poetry and 19th Century fiction and my knowledge and enthusiasm is evident in the teaching! I cannot enthuse enough how important reading is and encourage my students to read a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts to excel their English Language and English Literature skills.
