Experience: I am currently a STEM Outreach Ambassador and this role is to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) related subjects to young people. This role is a part of an extra-curricular module and my role involves explaining complicated concepts by simplifying them and using basic language to help young people get a clear insight into the concept as well as a basic understanding of it.
During my gap year I worked as an administrative assistant at a secondary school and I also overlooked all the extra-curricular projects for the school. I actively worked with the students on various projects such as the DofE project, school cycling club and the school`s games club.
I also worked as a GCSE and KS3 chemistry tutor at a tuition center during my gap year and I held this role for five months. I usually taught a group of 3-4 students at any given time and also gave parents/guardians feedback at the end of every session. I also did private 1-1 GCSE tutoring from home in Maths and Science and taught 3 students for approximately 3 months before their exams.
I spent the second year of my degree undertaking an exchange to Malaysia. Whilst there I volunteered to teach Maths and English to refugee children on the weekends.
