I am a Chartered Accountant and have a BSc in Natural Sciences, a Masters in Land Economy and a PhD in Geography.

I am an experienced tutor and can teach most subjects (except languages and music) at primary, middle school and GCSE levels. I can teach Geography, Business Studies, Economics, Accounting, Photography, Politics and Law to A Level and beyond. I have taught on AAT, ICSA and various other courses at a Further Education College. I have a DBS certificate.

Although I have high level acadamic qualifications I am also very practical and creative so enjoy planning lessons that are interesting.

I am a keen advocate of both Montessori (part-qualified) and Wardorf Steiner methods of teaching for lower age groups and those struggling to grasp basic mathematical concepts. The emphasis during my lessons is on developing understanding rather than merely chasing exam results.

Please note that my rates are minimum charges; the rate per hour reduces after the first hour and all rates include travel (although I prefer to teach from my own home), detailed personal lesson preparation and marking if required.

Experience: I have taught a range of children, from pre-school up to degree level, with most being somewhere between the two! I am currently tutoring English Language and Literature, Maths and Geography at GCSE level so am familiar with the current syllabus.

I have experience in working with children with mild learning difficulties but not in dealing with complex behavioural issues and therefore I prefer not to teach to children who are not engaged in the learning process.
