Information about Georgina
I am a very positive person with a huge amount of patience and determination to achieve high standards.
I believe in a constructive, creative approach to learning, using examples from real life and exploring different methods of problem solving that resonate with the strengths of each individual student.
Students will work in a friendly, approachable atmosphere with open communication. This benefits the success of the student as they feel confident to share challenges and work with a positive mindset to improve and reach for the next level.
I see my job as a tutor not only to teach the subject but to inspire students to see the benefits of their learning and bring awareness of the wider world in which they live.
Availability: I am available in the evenings and weekends for children at school. If adult or home learning lessons are required, I can teach on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays during school hours. Please check my current availability on my profile - this is always kept up to date.
If I can`t help immediately, I have a waiting list and will try to book you in as soon as I can.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I started tutoring in 2020, following a 15-year successful career in Design Engineering. I achieved an A grade in maths GCSE and A-Level, then followed to complete a MEng degree in Engineering Design.
I have detailed knowledge of the curriculum and experience teaching Maths from Year 3 through to GCSE. I tutor maths and 11+ privately with between 5 and 10 students each year. I also work to support maths students in secondary schools who need extra help to strive for their next grade boundary.
I am fortunate to have many positive comments both from private tuition and from my work in schools - I am always amazed by the progress the students can make when give the extra 1:1 attention that they need.

Feedback For Georgina (8)
Susan (Mrs)

Our daughter has been tutored by Georgina throughout her secondary years, right up to her last GCSE exam. Throughout that time, she has grown in confidence with maths; has seen her grades shoot up beyond what was expected, year on year and has led to a real love of the subject and a decision to take it at A-level. Georgina`s lesson plans are structured and she explains everything clearly, at the pace of the student - our daughter loved the fact she could be a lesson or two `ahead` of the class whilst, as a parent, Georgina`s termly reports were really useful. We will miss her weekly lessons and have no hesitation in recommending Georgina to new families looking for an empathic, reliable and expert tutor!

Georgina was very good with my daughter and understood quickly her weaknesses and addressed them well.

Son very pleased with support given for A level DT coursework. Georgina was very prompt with feedback on work due to timescales of project. Thanks very much.
