Information about Eloise
Last year I graduated from University of Southampton with a First in BA History and now I am studying for my GDL (graduate diploma in law) at University of Law to pursue a career as a solicitor. I am looking to tutor to help fund me through my course. I am a highly approachable and effective tutor, with an excellent success record. I have high academic grades, achieving a First at university and three A*s at A-Level in English Literature, History and Psychology.
I tutor primary school aged children in any subject, including the 11plus exam. I also can provide GCSE tutoring in most subjects, primarily English and A-Level tutoring in English, History and Psychology. I also provide tutoring for history undergraduates and work alongside A-level students to prepare them for university. I also pride myself on being organised and highly motivated so can also help students with study skills, working with them to achieve their best potential.
Availability: Currently I am available for one or two hour sessions after school hours every week day. I am also available most weekends depending on previous commitments. However, I am always willing to negotiate with students and parents to find the best times each week for everyone and am always flexible depending on your needs.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have 7 years experience tutoring children aged 3 to 18 in all subject areas. During my A-Levels, I tutored GCSE students after their mocks before their exams and 100% of the students achieved a grade higher than they were predicted. At university I recruited, trained and led a group of over 20 volunteers in organising and running bi-weekly tutoring groups in local libraries. This involved tutoring children of all ages in all subjects. I specialised in helping primary school children to prepare for their 11plus exams, ensuring they got into their chosen secondary school. I also set up a partnership with a refugee charity to provide free English help for refugee children and am highly confident helping children where English is not there first language.
I also have lots of experience helping children learn how to read and improving their reading ability. I have 5 years experience volunteering at local libraries helping librarians run childrens reading groups and assisting with the Summer Reading Challenge, encouraging children to read. Since university I have been working at Harrow Waterstones and have a great knowledge of childrens literature and can work with parents and children to provide the right reading to enhance a childs ability.
Furthermore, Harrow Waterstones is Waterstones second largest provider of academic texts and study guides. As a result, I was helping parents find resources to help their childrens learning on a daily basis and now have an extensive knowledge of the best study guides available for students. I can provide guidance on the best guides for your child, tailored to your needs and budget.
