Information about Anna

I am Anna, a London-based tutor, University of Cambridge graduate, fluent French speaker and artist. I have been working as a tutor since 2020, when I completed my BA in Human Social and Political Sciences.

I have extensive experience tutoring GCSE and A Level Economics, teaching French and Maths up to GCSE level, preparing students for 11+ entrance exams to top London secondary schools and coaching Oxbridge candidates for entrance exams and interviews. I love the challenge of working out each of my students’ learning styles, tailoring lesson plans and past exam papers to their particular needs and helping them achieve their goals - be it securing a place for them at their dream university or mastering a particular topic which they find difficult in school.

Before attending Cambridge, I went to City of London School for Girls where I received top grades in A Level History, Economics, Maths and Art and 10 A*s at GCSE. In 2025, I received a Distinction in my MA in Painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.

Availability: I have flexible working hours and am available on weekday evenings and Sundays all day.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: Economics A Level tutor and home-school teacher (150 hours +)
Examples of my previous students are Edik (tutored from February 2023- June 2024) and two brothers, George and Oliver (from October 2021 to June 2024). Edik progressed from an E in February Year 12 to a B in his A Level exam, thereby achieving the grade he needed for his university place at UCL. George and Oliver’s mother said “My boys could not have managed their A levels without you”. I have also taught two students not attending school the complete Economics syllabus for their exams and have held weekly group revision classes for Holland Park School and the French Lycee.

Maths GCSE (50 hours +)
An example of a previous student is Harry (Year 10 student with autism), who I taught three times a week for a term when he was out of school due to health reasons. We formed a connection and his mum got back in touch with me for tuition a year later for help when he was finishing his GCSE. Another example is Ed (Year 11), who I helped work through his ADHD and tackle topics like trigonometry and graphs which he had been avoiding in his revision.

11+ and 13+ Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning (75 hours +)
Examples of previous students are Mary, James and Bertie. I tutored Mary 11+ entry to competitive London private schools (e.g. Francis Holland and Channing). She received a place at her top choice school and her confi- dence in Maths improved so much with my help that her parents decided to continue our lessons together. She is now in Year 8 and I continue to tutor her in Maths. I also tutored Bertie and James for 13+ entrance to City of London and Dulwhich College. Both boys received academic scholarships to these schools and Bertie’s mum described how he ‘excelled’ under my tuition.

University and Oxbridge Entrance (35 hours +)
My experience includes editing personal statements for students apply- ing for humanities and social sciences at university, doing mock Oxbridge interviews and group workshops in schools such as City of London School for Girls and the French Lycee and longer term one-to-one mentoring. An example of a previous student is Laurena, who I tutored for several months and who received a place at Cambridge University to study HSPS. I continue to mentor her at university, helping her with essay writing technique and a postgraduate study application.

French GCSE (30 hours +)
I am a fluent French speaker and am able to create lessons designed to build students’ confidence and vocabulary, while fostering a safe environ- ment where students feel comfortable to make mistakes. An example of a previous student is Tilly, who I tutored throughout Year 11. Her confidence improved hugely and she was able to move up two grades, obtaining a 7, a grade she was very happy with.

History GCSE and A Level (15 hours +)
I have helped a range of students with exam technique for source papers, coursework essays and general writing techniques, e.g. essay structuring. My BA at Cambridge University required me to write two essay a week on a range of historical, theoretical and political themes. This gives me the knowledge and experience necessary to help students with a wide variety of the historical topics they study for their A Level and GCSE history.

Art and Craft Activity Leader at College du Leman Summer School (2024)
I was responsible for planning and teaching a group of 6 to 16 year olds arts and crafts, 6 hours a day for one month at an international summer camp in Switzerland . This required me to have a creative approach to lesson plan- ning, designing activities which would suit the range of ages and nationali- ties in my class.

Art teacher and receptionist at Kite Studios (September 2021-August 2023)
I was a freelance painting, print-making and pottery teacher at an art studio for children, schools and SEND adults. Our clients included the charity West London Zone and Burlington Danes Primary Academy.
