Information about Holly

I`ve incorporated the additional information from your employment history, leadership roles, wellbeing work, examiner experience, mentoring, and qualifications to create a stronger and more comprehensive professional profile.

I am currently a Psychology Teacher at a leading independent girls` school in Oxfordshire, with 20 years of experience teaching Psychology and Social Sciences across both independent and state sectors. My career includes experience in both independent and state education, providing me with a broad understanding of diverse educational environments, student needs, and academic pathways.

I have extensive leadership experience, including eight years as Head of Social Sciences, six years as Head of Year 12 and 13, and additional responsibilities as Assistant Head of Year, Peer Mentoring Coordinator, Form Tutor, and Mental Health and Wellbeing advocate. Throughout my career, I have taught A Level Psychology (AQA and OCR), A Level Sociology (AQA), BTEC Health and Social Care, and IB Diploma Psychology, consistently supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes and progress to higher education.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have significant experience in sixth-form leadership and university progression, including UCAS administration, student guidance, and pastoral support. I have worked as an AQA Examiner for GCE Psychology and have extensive experience as a private Psychology tutor. I have also delivered A Level Psychology as an evening course for adult learners, demonstrating my ability to adapt teaching approaches for a wide range of learners and educational settings.

My wider educational responsibilities have included coordinating the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), leading Peer Mentoring and Mental Health Champions programmes, organising enrichment and charitable initiatives, supporting alumni relations, and contributing to school publications. I have also supported trainee teachers through the Teach South East programme, mentoring and training PGCE Psychology graduates and helping to develop the next generation of educators.

I hold a 2:1 degree in Applied Social Sciences (Psychology Pathway) from the University of Southampton, a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education specialising in Psychology, and Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
