Information about Steven
Hi, I`m Steven. I obtained a BSc. and MSc. in chemistry before moving to London to pursue a PhD at King`s College London, which combined chemistry, biophysics and biotechnology. Subsequently, I worked at the University of Cambridge as a researcher before returning back to King`s College London, where I`m currently based.
I have been tutoring for more than 8 years and have extensive knowledge of GSCE and A-level physics, chemistry, maths and biology, as well as degree-level chemistry. My style of tutoring focuses heavily on solving exercises as they are a great leeway into explaining theory, allowing me to probe and find areas that can to be improved upon, and are great exam practice. I encourage students to think out loud and make mistakes during tutoring sessions, which allows us to talk through their reasoning and why it is right/wrong. This approach results in students not just improving their test scores but also becoming better communicators and problem solvers.

Steven is a great chemistry tutor. He has an in-depth understanding of the subject matter, including its concepts and theories, to effectively teach the material. Often he can draw anecdotes from his experiences to effectively convey the importance as well as the application of the theories. He is very patient and works around the students weakness as well as strengths. Overall my experience with truly helped gain insight within the subject.
