Information about Ishrat

I am a fully qualified teacher (University of Birmingham) with over 20 years of teaching experience.

I have amassed over the years significant experience and expertise, teaching in a variety of educational sectors. I originally qualified as a primary teacher, working as one for many years. This means I am able to teach all subjects at primary level (KS2). But having undertaken subject knowledge enhancement courses with Nottingham Trent University in 2012, I further qualified to teach Maths up to GCSE level. As such then, I have have been working as a Maths teacher within schools, colleges and tuition centres, as well as a teacher in Primary schools. I can also teach functional skills up to level 2 and am experienced in teaching SEND students.
This year (September 2023) I have finally taken a step back from full-time teaching in school, to concentrate on my growing tuition services.

Having a Certificate in Mathematical Mastery (University of Plymouth), I ensure that my subject knowledge and pedagogy is in line with expectations of any new and challenging curriculum content within GSCE Maths and Primary Maths (SATS).
I am experienced in teaching all boards including IGCSE, and am also experienced in teaching GCSE Statistics and Level 2 Certificate in Further Maths. I have recently (2023) completed a Subject Knowledge Course so that my teaching of AS Pure Maths (Year 12 of A` Level) is current.
Furthermore, I am a GCSE examiner for the AQA board.

As a teacher, I am able to identify gaps in learning and thus implement effective intervention and strategies required in order to progress learning effectively.

As a parent myself, I recognise how important it is that a tutor`s teaching style and personality complements the student`s individual learning style and needs. As such, when I tutor my first one-to-one lesson, I aim to assess the student`s levels and requirements, so that both parties have the opportunity to consider and discuss the suitability of this student-tutor partnership.

My son has worked with Ms Ishrat for nearly two years now. I have to say that I am really impressed by her teaching style. My son who is now 11 years of age, absolutely loves her and finds her really supportive. She has helped my son pass the Eleven Plus and has always helped him stay ahead of his class in Maths and English. I would strongly recommend Ms Ishrat as she is very professional and adapts her teaching style to meet individual student needs.

Ms. Ishrat is an outstanding Maths GCSE teacher, experienced in the recent and substantial changes to the GCSE curriculum.

She tutored my daughter in her final year of GCSE Maths, and helped pushed her grade from C (expected) to A (actual)!

The dedicated, one to one tuition, twice a week allowed time for my daughter to actually work through the subject with a tutor that bought out the best in her. She achieved an A in Maths through hard work and guidance.

Ms. Ishrat can be proud of her substantive efforts and comes very highly recommended.

Tutors Response :

Many thanks for your valuable and humbling feedback- your daughter did indeed work very hard, and I am pleased that my support helped her to achieve her true potential! I wish her a very successful future!
