I am a fully qualified teacher (University of Birmingham) with over 25 years of teaching experience.

I have amassed over the years significant experience and expertise, teaching in a variety of educational sectors. I originally qualified as a primary teacher, working as one for many years. This means I am able to teach all subjects at primary level (KS2).

But then I further qualified to teach Maths up to GCSE level. As such then, I have been working as a Maths teacher within Leicester secondary schools, colleges, as well as private tutoring, for the past 12 years now. This includes being able to deliver the Level 2 certificate in Further Maths to higher ability year 11 pupils, as well as maths functional skills qualifications to SEND or lower ability learners.

Having a Certificate in Mathematical Mastery (University of Plymouth), I ensure that my subject knowledge and pedagogy is in line with expectations of any new and challenging curriculum content within GSCE Maths and Primary Maths (SATS).

I am experienced in teaching all boards including IGCSE and am a GCSE maths examiner for the AQA board.

As a teacher, I am able to identify gaps in learning and thus implement effective intervention and strategies required in order to progress learning effectively.

As a parent myself, I recognise how important it is that a tutor`s teaching style and personality complements the student`s individual learning style and needs. As such, when I tutor my first one-to-one lesson, I aim to assess the student`s levels and requirements, so that both parties have the opportunity to consider and discuss the suitability of this student-tutor partnership.

- Experienced in teaching Maths and English Functional Skills . I worked as a Skills for Life Specialist for a large, nationwide organisation, teaching Functional Skills to both school leavers and adult learners.

- Experienced in Tutoring I have worked as a Tutor for a Tuition Company teaching Maths (KS3 and GCSE) and English KS2 & KS3).

-SEND experience. I have been employed as a SEND teacher, and am familiar with different teaching and learning strategies required to successfully enhance learners with additional needs.
