After completing my Master`s in Economics from the London School of Economics, I worked in HSBC`s international management programme, working in places such as New York, Berlin as well as London. After the pandemic struck, I decided to leave my job, as I felt unsafe travelling.

My experience and education within the economic/ financial sector allow me to bring real world examples into the lessons, which many tutors are unable to do. I am also happy to help write personal statements.

I have a long history in teaching and coaching under 18s in chess, having first started at the age of 14, and have been playing from the age of 9, so I understand what helps a child grow most.

Availability: Very flexible and am happy to change hours week to week depending upon availability, however, I prefer to work in the afternoons and evenings.

At the moment I am busy with many of my pupil`s family members from when I first started tutoring, but I will aim to fit all enquiries into my schedule.

Experience: I have an ECF standard play grade of 175, roughly 2000 FIDE, and a chess rapid-play grade of 2200, with intentions to progress to an ECF 200 grade within the next two years. I have been playing chess since the age of eleven, so over ten years, and have been coaching chess to juniors since the age of sixteen. Whilst I was living in Birmingham I was a coach at Bloxwich Junior Chess Club which was voted the best club in the ECF, and have trained juniors who have gone on to play internationally, as well as representing England against the home nations in the annual Liverpool Quadrangular.
