I am a fun, enthusiastic and experienced science tutor, with 3 years full time Science teaching under my belt and over 7 years of tutoring and experience working within Education. I have a PGCE from Oxford University and an MChem from the University of Southampton.
I am a fully qualified, friendly and patient Science teacher, with experience in teaching and tutoring all three Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) and Maths at KS3 and GCSE, and Chemistry at A-Level. I love helping students to find their way around problems, and promoting a love of learning. I understand that everyone thinks and learns differently, so I work hard to help students access all content, and I can cater for specific needs where applicable. Experience: Since completing my PGCE at Oxford University, I have been teaching in a school near Oxford, and have been doing private tutoring whilst doing this, I teach all years from Year 7 through to A Level, and have enjoyed supporting my students to achieve high grades through all key stages. I have also been heavily involved in writing multiple revision guides and schemes of work within the sciences, and am an experienced exam marker.

Alyssa has been an excellent tutor on all levels for my son whom studied A Level chemistry. She worked through the syllabus in order and identified areas of weakness in topics and exam technique which had not been noted before. These are addressed by setting exam questions at each lesson and pointers on reading and what to make notes on. Furthermore, this is all laid out in a detailed email after each lesson. Alyssa is always flexible, supportive and positive, with an individualised approach to focus on areas where my son was not so strong. I strongly recommend Alyssa as a tutor and wish we had found her earlier!

Alyssa is an incredible tutor. She is enthusiastic, thorough and supportive. She is a great communicator - sending emails detailing how each session went and was covered. She prepares so well for each lesson- you would think your child was her only pupil! My daughter enjoys her lessons and Alyssa sets expectations that means she wants to learn and do well.
