I currently tutor A level mathematics at Mander Portman Woodward Cambridge.

I am a mathematician with a PhD and first class degree in Pure Mathematics. I currently run my own Educational Consultancy, providing services to colleges and universities in the Cambridge region with a focus on A-level and GCSE mathematics. I also cater for other courses of study as laid out by exam boards such as Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

My teaching mirrors my personality, lively, friendly, extremely patient and continuous encouragement. I build one-to-one professional relationships that enable me to tailor the learning delivered to the student and overcome the common student misconception that they “cannot do mathematics”. I am exam-focused and my principal pedagogy is the practice and mastering of exam techniques and past-papers. This targets improving student grades and shows up any knowledge deficit.

My extensive knowledge of mathematics and experience of delivering outstanding, differentiated and engaging lessons, enables me to deliver on any college’s targets and improve students’ grades.

I tutor at Mander Porter Woodward in Cambridge;;;; one of the UK`s leading independent sixth form colleges;;;; which in November 2019 was rated by Ofsted as outstanding in all areas. I teach small diverse A level mathematics classes in an environment that pushes students to work hard and reach their full potential. I also support students with one-on-one individually tailored tuition in mathematics for GCSE, A Level and International Baccalaureate. I teach both online as well as face-to-face and I regularly teach classes that are a combination of both.

Oxford Summer Courses Tutor
This was my third year tutoring the Oxford Summer Courses Cambridge Summer School. I created and delivered a bespoke mathematics syllabus for 13 – 18 year old international students attending the Summer School. The course featured an introduction to calculus which made strong use by the students of the Dynamic Geometry and Graphing Application Geogebra and the Computer Algebra System Maxima. Such tools aid understanding, assist in problem solving and are the future of mathematical practice. Results of last classroom observation attached separately.
