Need help in Maths?

Hi, I`m a former student at Ilford County and a BSc Mathematics Graduate at the University of Bristol. I have a genuine love for teaching and engaging with others in Maths, and a passion for helping others.
Contact me if you`re looking for someone empathetic as well as fully focused on helping students achieve the grades they need!

I have tutored sixth-form students who have drastically improved their grades after only a few months of A-Level Maths tuition. One recent tutee was initially failing mock exams despite attending after-school classes and tuition centres. His parents thought it was hopeless and saw him become extremely downbeat despite the amount of effort he put into his studies. I aimed to put his improvement at the centre of my lesson plans and made sure he received the conversation and encouragement, as well as the technical solutions to maths problems he had faced, to change his mood and performance. For example, within a month I had him achieving 75%+ in all C4 past-papers, despite him not yet having learnt the harder material in C4 (so was unable to do the harder questions on the paper) – he had totally cut out the silly mistakes with a renewed motivation to get an A*. Over the rest of the time leading up to his exam, I had thoroughly explained concepts to him which previously confused him, worked through questions with heavy solution-work to ensure there would be no Maths concept he didn’t know or feel intimidated by in the paper. Throughout this time, he and his mother were incredibly happy with my impact and I went on to tutor their family-friends who were encouraged by my work.

I tutor GCSE Maths, A-Level Maths and Further Maths. I achieved the following grades in my exams:
- 100% in GCSE Maths
- A* in A-Level Maths (completed in Year 12) with 100% in C1, C3 and C4 and 90+% in other exams.
- A* in A-Level Further Maths with 100% in FP1 and FP3, and 90+% in other exams with the exception of S3 (83%)

When I teach, I make sure that the lessons I teach the student will stick with them and carry on to help them in other areas of their life. I teach them the correct studying techniques so that they can perform well when I`m not present to guide them. I am an extremely honest and caring individual and always put the needs (and happiness) of my students first when teaching. I am also a perfectionist in my work and will strive to fully reach my objective of getting the student the grade they need.

After meeting clients I check whether they are happy with the service after an introductory (shorter) lesson - the fee can be discussed. After this, I charge £30 for 2 hour lessons. I am open to group tutoring, for which I will consider lower fees of £25. I prepare well before every session to ensure no time is wasted and like to stay in contact with students and parents to make sure they are getting what they want. I can tutor at the homes of students if in reachable distance but if not, in suitable public work spaces.

Experience: Since completing my Mathematics degree, I have spent my spare time working as a private tutor for a variety of students. I have recently left an IT job to become a videogame developer, and work regularly part-time as a tutor. I have helped friends, family, and clients with great results and have furthermore built strong relationships with the students to advise them throughout their life / career choices.

My son thinks he is a very good teacher.

Tutors Response :

I am sorry to hear of Mr Steven`s disappointment, however it was a brief hiccup in organising lessons with Mr Steven - it was resolved within half an hour.

The issue stemmed from the fact travel time to Mr Steven`s home would be too great for me to commit to something I would not be able to promise until I have details of the exact location. However we agreed to lessons at a suitable work place between us, after some discussion.
