Information about Andrew

Successful maths tutor available for one-to-one tuition. Several references can be provided from previous students.

I am a committed maths teacher who is prepared to go the extra mile to ensure learners achieve the results they deserve. I have a professional approach, ensuring teaching the course content is the priority. However, I aim to make sure learners are relaxed and ready to learn, as a lot of learners hold anxieties about being judged negatively for their current level of maths.

In addition, I realise it is critical for learners to invest themselves in the process, so it is essential to quickly build a rapport and earn their respect. I take pride in each learner’s progress and this ownership creates a mutually productive relationship.

At the end of each session I offer feedback to both students and parents to ensure we are maximising progress and planning ahead.

Can be contacted by email if the student has any extra questions between sessions.

Availability: Mon-Fri evenings and weekends as appropriate

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have worked with learners of all backgrounds, ages and abilities via a combination of group sessions and one-to-one support. This has ranged from KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-Level, all the way through to adult learning.

The continuous challenge in maths teaching is disengaged learners who ‘hate maths’. I continually strive to change the mindset of learners by demonstrating my enthusiasm for the subject and highlighting how maths is a skill for life, rather than only needed to pass a test.
