Information about Sara
I am a graduate from the University of Glasgow, graduating with a First Class Honours (Integrated Masters) degree in Neuroscience. I worked for 2 years after graduating and now have started studying again (to get a Masters in Physiotherapy).
Aside from my academic achievements, I have many years of experience working with young people - I was employed as a youth worker before applying for university and continued this job over the summer months whereby I taught on a range of non-academic programmes.
I am very friendly, patient and easy to talk to. I am also very used to working with a wide range of people and believe I am excellent at catering to all types of learning style.
I can offer help in Biology and Psychology at both A-level and GCSE level, as well as Psychology and Biology-related subjects (including Neuroscience) at degree level.
I can drive so I am willing to travel to students, but I am equally as happy to meet you wherever is convenient for you.
Availability: I am fairly flexible with when I can offer tuition - please get in touch to let me know what you are looking for. As I am studying, I am fairly flexible during the day. However, there will be times when I will be on placement for 6-8 weeks in which case I will only be able to tutor during the evenings and may have to reduce the number of sessions offered.
***PLEASE NOTE: I am currently at capacity for regular students, however will be able to help out with one-off lessons every so often so please get in touch if this is what you are looking for.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have tutored in both academic subjects and non-academic subjects (such as employability training) for many years now so have a lot of experience working with a wide range of young people in various situations. Specifically, have tutored in academic subjects for 5-6 years. Recently I tutored a first-year Midwifery student who had failed her exam twice previously. After working with me, she successfully passed her exam on the third attempt!
