Experience: I have a thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and National Primary Curriculum (English and Maths), and specialist subject knowledge of the Maths Mastery Scheme, Dramatic Progress in Literacy Units and the Letters & Sounds Phonics Programme. I also have experience in Key Stage 1 and 2 - preparing pupils for end of term examinations and administering National Curriculum Tests, such as: Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, Year 2 SATs and Year 6 SATs.
I also teach in a leading Independent School and have a wealth experience preparing school for the
Seven & Eleven Plus entrance exams and the two main boards:
- GL Assessments
- CEM 11+
In both GL and CEM exams, there is a strong emphasis on core skills in English and maths; including spelling, punctuation, grammar, comprehension and vocabulary; including arithmetic skills, problem-solving and manipulation of data. Non-verbal reasoning assess spatial awareness, pattern-spotting and logical skills.
