Information about Keziah

Tutoring is a rewarding job that allows me to nurture and share my love of learning with my students. Having worked in a mainstream secondary school as an LSA for students with SEND, I realised the importance of personalised learning and the barriers that many students face in accessing the curriculum and achieving academic success. I saw the benefit that my 1:1 sessions with students had on their confidence and progress and these results were also evidenced in the progress of the students that I tutored privately outside of my work at school.
I enjoy the flexibility and autonomy that tutoring allows. For example, online tutoring means that I am able to continue tutoring my regular students around my undergraduate studies at university. Tutoring has also helped in my journey to becoming a teacher and the experience was instrumental in the success of my application to become a TeachFirst candidate.

Availability: I am available on weekdays and weekends.

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Experience: I am a private tutor with over six years of experience and a proven track record of improving the knowledge, skills, progress and attainment of my students. I have worked with students including KS2 students preparing for SATs, KS4/GCSE and KS5/A-Levels. At each level I recognise the importance of capitalising on my students’ strengths and using differentiated teaching strategies to meet their learning needs and ensure learning and mastery of the subjects that I teach.
My own academic journey and achievements have put me in good stead to meet the needs of my pupils and I believe that my proximity in age with some of my students has been of great benefit and in feedback from some of my students and parents, it has been mentioned that I am a good role model.
My tutoring of students is not limited to teaching curriculum content. I also support my students in developing good study and exam skills I have helped students surpass their predicted grades; achieving 100% A* - B and more recently, 100% 9-7 results. In addition, I’ve also supported students in passing 11+/13+ exams and interviews, securing places in top selective schools.
I also worked as an SEND Learning Support Assistant in a comprehensive school and this experience afforded me insight into supporting children facing varied barriers to learning in achieving their academic potential.
