Information about Emma

With over 500 hours of teaching, I have developed a logical and structured approach which nurtures students’ natural abilities to form critical opinions. This gives them the confidence and skills needed to achieve their full potential. I ensure students form revision resources structured to maximise their success in exams, allowing them to approach exams with confidence, knowing exactly what is required to succeed, and how to fulfil these requirements to the best of their ability. Tutoring allows me to see young people flourish into critical, confident and articulate individuals who succeed in their exams, having built important life skills in the process: that is why I love what I do. I am patient, kind and believe that all students possess the ability to succeed if given the right tools.

Key aspects of my tutoring approach include:
* Tailored Guidance: I meet each student at their current ability level, working collaboratively to develop analytical skills and enhance written work.

* Transparent Progress Tracking: I create tutoring trackers and grade trackers to provide students and parents with a clear overview of covered topics and the student`s improvement over time. This focused approach ensures effective communication among all parties involved.

* Mark Scheme Mastery: I help students understand the intricacies of the mark scheme, providing practical tools to meet its requirements and excel in assessments.

* Inclusive and Supportive Environment: My sessions are founded on kindness, mutual respect, and patience. I create a safe space where students feel free to make mistakes, fostering a conducive environment for learning.

* Interactive Learning: I utilise an interactive whiteboard (BitPaper) and Google Docs to facilitate real-time annotation sharing, allowing for collaborative teaching and easy idea exchange, even in virtual settings.

* Homework Support: Students receive assigned homework and are encouraged to reach out with any questions between sessions, ensuring continuous support and reinforcement of concepts.

* Individualised Lesson Planning: All lessons are meticulously planned based on the unique needs of each student, ensuring a tailored and effective learning experience.

* Structured revision tools: Often students are told to revise, but not how to revise. I give structured resources and guidance to demystify the revision process.

* Enthusiasm Cultivation: My students often develop a newfound or enhanced enjoyment for the subject, progressing from struggling with written work to fully appreciating the texts they study. This transformation includes forming personal interpretations and gaining greater confidence in expressing themselves through writing.
