Information about Evangeline
I adore French grammar and I become extremely excited when required to explain its intricacies, logicality and irregularities. My ambition is to write novels for teenagers and young adults and in my spare time, I have written four books which means I am very good at thinking about structuring essays and how to edit them. I have three degrees: my undergraduate degree was in French at UCL and I lived and worked in Paris for a year as part of the degree; I also have two masters, one from UCL in Publishing and an M.Phil from Trinity College Dublin in Children`s Literature. I love analysing literature and thinking about language and I always want to share my enthusiasm for these things with my pupils. When not writing or thinking about the French subjunctive, I can usually be found figure skating which has taught me determination and persaverence and exemplary time management skills, balancing sport alongside my degrees and work.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I tutored GCSE and A-level French and Classical Civilisation during my undergraduate degree, aquiring clients through word of mouth. When I returned from my degree in Dublin, I pursued tutition more seriously and have now been tutoring many pupils on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for over two years. I prepare detailed lessons according to each pupil`s need and I am more than happy to adapt my teaching style depending on how a student learns or wishes to study. I have tutored pupils at pre-GCSE level who are struggling in school and helped GCSE and A-levels pupils prepare for their exams. I also welcome adults who wish to learn French from scratch or are looking to pick up where they left off at school. I think it is important for pupils to know what they require help with when they first come to me for help; however, I also consider myself excellent at spotting gaps in their learning and I will therefore swiftly fill-in these holes. I have primarily tutored in French, but I would be delighted to share my passion for English language and literature too.
