Information about Tyler

I am a very friendly, outgoing enthusiastic, 28 year old from North London with a passion for teaching and helping young people reach their full potential!

I specialise in assisting primary school students pass the challenging 11 plus exams and receive places at the leading secondary schools in North London including Queen Elizabeth`s Boys School, The Latymer School and The Henrietta Barnett School.

With regards to my academic credentials, I attended Queen Elizabeth’s Boy’s School in Barnet, North London, one of the leading secondary schools in the UK. I was required to pass the challenging 11+ entrance exams to be accepted into the grammar school. Therefore I have experience and a wealth of knowledge in how to pass them. I have also had the privilege of learning from the best teachers in the country and I am able to use their innovative teaching techniques on my students.

Upon finishing secondary school I attended the University of Nottingham, to study Politics and International Relations and I recently graduated with first class honours. As the below grades illustrate, I have consistently excelled academically, and I am willing and able to pass on my knowledge to keen learners!

GCSE: 7 A* 3 A’S 2 B’s (Maths, History, English Literature, Science, Additional Science, R.S, I.C.T , Economics, English Language, Geography, P.E. German)

AS LEVEL: 4 A’s (English Literature, History, Politics, Economics with Business)

A LEVEL: 1 A*, 2 A’s (History, Politics, Economics with Business)

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE: First Class honours (Politics and International Relations BA)

I am a very patient tutor who has a strong appreciation of the value of building a rapport with his students in order to get the most effort out of them. I motivate and inspire my students whilst pushing them to maximise their academic potential.

I create a personal experience for each of my students creating individual lesson plans tailored specifically to their goals. I complement each of my lessons by setting weekly homework based on textbook and exam style questions and I am easily contactable if any issues arise outside of lesson time.

Availability: I am available on weekends and weekday evenings

Willing to travel: 50 miles

Experience: I have over a decades worth of experience teaching, coaching, mentoring and educating young people from across the world.

I am currently a tutor to a number of primary school students in London with aspirations of attending some of the leading grammar schools in North London and a number of secondary school students aspiring to succeed in their GCSEs.

Throughout 2018-2019 I was a teaching assistant in a challenging local primary school, responsible for working leading small groups of children who needed extra attention to progress and excel with the school curriculum.

In my final year at university I worked as a teaching assistant at a secondary school in Nottingham, as part of the Students in Classrooms Scheme. I was responsible for assisting in the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons at KS3, GCSE and A level in subjects including Maths, History, English and Economics. I specialised in working one to one with struggling pupils, helping them to understand challenging material and ensuring they progressed at the same rate of their peers.

During my final two yeas at university I was an online mentor to over twenty 16 and 17 year olds with aspirations of attending university. I was a easily contactable resource, providing constructive feedback, and advice on crucial elements of A level study and the UCAS process such as coursework, personal statements, admission exams, and important skills such as organisation and time management.
