Information about Jordi

My personal journey into music began in Spain, at the Conservatori de Musica de Vilaseca. I took up the viola aged 5, studying with Quim Miracle and Evelio Tieles; who was a former student of David Oistrach. In the final year of my studies in Spain, I had a masterclass with Rivka Golani, and I immediately knew that I needed to go to London to study as a member of her world renowned class.
In 2009 I made the move, beginning my studies with Rivka at Trinity Laban. As you can see from my CV I spent nine years studying the viola; gaining a total of 5 higher education qualifications. This is testament to my belief that a musician should never stop learning and exploring. I feel very lucky to have had a number of hugely inspirational and supportive teachers who each helped me to become the violist and teacher I am today. I strive to give the same level of encouragement to all of my students and I believe that enjoying studying with a great teacher is something every child should have access to.

Availability: My way of teaching has been mostly inspired by my current teacher, Rivka Golani. She teaches in an open lesson style, so everyone is welcome to sit and hear each other’s lessons. By doing this we can observe how she teaches and how other students learn. I belive that we learn as much, if not more, from those who are close to us in terms of experience, than from those who are already experts. I always try to approach to each student differently, which I now strive to do, as now person learns in the same way.

5/5 Rating

Jordi is a great teacher and a really talented viola and violin player.

As a child I played for many years and Jordi has made my return to the violin as an adult many years later very enjoyable whilst still ensuring a strong focus on my technique.

He has also given me confidence and enjoyment when playing alone and he is helping me join an orchestra.

I highly recommend him to any others.
